she started writing in college, and now it's complete. a thick manuscript delivered in a yellow envelope, sitting on my coffee table. it took her years to finish, and two afternoons for me to read.

it's perfect. their life is in that story, although it is not a story about their life. the songs, the fights, the college boy that resides quietly within my father-in-law. the details of my husband that only a wife or sister can put into words.
